Volunteering: Himalayan balsam pulling Cockermouth

25th July 2022

When: Monday 25th July, 6pm-8pm
Where: Meet at Quaker Bridge (Riverside carpark)
What: Himalayan Balsam Pulling

Himalayan Balsam is an invasive, non-native plant that prevents native species from growing, chokes our waterways, and causes riverbank erosion. Join us to pull it up - no experience is necessary as we’ll show you what to do! Everyone is welcome - as long as you are happy bending down and pulling up plants! Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please bring waterproofs, clothing suitable for the weather, sturdy footwear/wellies, drinks and gloves if you have them.

Tools will be provided.

No experience necessary.
