Green Gyms at Walkmill Community Woodland

Meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month, Green Gym sessions involve a group of volunteers helping with practical conservation tasks at Walkmill Community Woodland. Tasks range from seed harvesting and planting, scrub clearance, wildflower meadow maintenance and tree planting. 

When: Thursday 23rd November, 10.30am-3.00pm

Where: Walkmill Community Woodland, Moresby Parks, near Whitehaven (meet at the small car park)
What: We will be clearing the overgrown Black Wood Path, this will involve cutting back vegetation and clearing it from the path to make the path more accessible.

Booking is essential. Please click here to sign up as a volunteer and to book on to this event. 

Please bring waterproofs, clothing suitable for the weather and that you don’t mind getting muddy (long sleeves and trousers are recommended), sturdy footwear (walking boots/wellies), lunch, drinks, gloves if you have them (we can provide them if you don’t have any) and any personal medication/inhalers etc you need for the day.

Don’t worry if you can’t make the full day, just contact Sarah if you need to start later or finish earlier.

Tools will be provided. No experience necessary. There are no facilities on the site.
