One of the objectives of the current project is an ongoing monitoring programme to assess how the lake responds to the various initiatives to improve water quality.
We are lucky to have a good set of baseline data owing to the past work which has been undertaken on the lake both through past LCP projects and lake monitoring undertaken by the Environment Agency and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.
We undertake detailed monitoring of the water chemistry and algae within the lake, and water quality and fish monitoring in the streams as part of the project.
The Environment Agency assist with sampling on a monthly basis and other water quality and algal sampling and analysis are undertaken by two dedicated volunteers. The monitoring reports produced to date can be found in the downloads section below.
