Trish Dunlop, Head of Nuclear Safety at Sellafield, has been appointed as the new Chair of our Board of Trustees, and we are seeking new Trustees to join her on the Board.
Trish has been a member of the Board since 2019, helping oversee our governance and strategy. She started her career as a Pollution Inspector with what is now the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and for the last 20 years has worked for Sellafield in a variety of roles relating to compliance and improvement for environment, health and safety.
Trish said: “I’ve had a passion for the environment since persuading my chemistry teacher to take our sixth form class on a trip to the local sewage works, and it has been a continued theme through my professional career.
“I’ve relished bringing up my three children to enjoy the fells, rivers and lakes in this beautiful place in which we are lucky to live, so I’m delighted to have this opportunity to play a key role with the Trust in raising awareness and increasing understanding of West Cumbria’s rivers and lakes.”
Trish Dunlop (L) and Jodie Mills (R)
Jodie Mills, Director, said: “Trish is a great asset to the Board of Trustees and the whole team is really excited to have her leading the organisation.
“Trish is handed the baton from our former chairman Dave Magrath, who I would like to thank for his wisdom and dedicated commitment to the Trust.”
Jodie said: “Our Trustees play a vital role in overseeing our strategy, generously volunteering a few hours a month of their time because they’re passionate about our cause.”
