This month we shall be working with the National Trust, preparing for the installation of leaky barriers on a tributary of the River Irt.
Leaky barriers are good at ‘slowing the slow’ of water and will reduce the amount of silt that gets washed into the River Irt which is damaging to mussels and fish.
Meeting point: Gaterigghowe Sawmill, Gosforth, Seascale, Cumbria, CA20 1ES
When: 12th September. Please arrive for 9.30am start. The event will run till 3.30pm.
Tools are provided.
Please bring your own waterproofs, footwear (preferably wellies), lunch and gloves if you have them.
