Join West Cumbria Rivers Trust and the National Trust for a day of bashing balsam in Wasdale.
Himalayan balsam is an invasive species which can take over vast areas pushing out native flora. When the plant dies back over winter this leaves a bare patch of earth vulnerable to soil erosion. Over recent years we have been making progress but there is still lots more to pull!
Meeting point: Gaterigghowe Sawmill, Gosforth, Seascale, Cumbria, CA20 1ES
When: 27th June 2017. Please arrive for 9.30am start.
Gloves are provided (although your own might be less smelly!)
Please bring your own waterproofs, footwear (boots or wellies) and lunch.
If you would like to join us please let Chris know to on: 07496590987 or firstname.lastname@example.org
