Pearls in Peril; Film 3

20th October 2016 - Wild Rivers Catchment

The fascinating Pearls in Peril Project is nearly at the end of it’s 4 year term. A series of short films have been produced to track the progress of how the team delivered a range of conservation projects and education sessions with the aim of safeguarding the future of the freshwater mussel in the River Ehen in Cumbria.

The River Ehen has the largest and only breeding population of mussels left in England so this project has been key in trying to protect this precious species.
