Whit Beck 2 years on - guided walk

6th September 2016

Our river restoration project manager will be leading a walk to look at the Whit Beck river restoration site in the Lorton Valley 2 years on from completion of the construction work.  There will be an opportunity to learn more about the project, including how the 1.2km new re-meandered river coped with the floods of last winter, the wildlife that is now flourishing within it, and of course see for yourself how it is developing over time.

Meet at: Lay-by at Whit Beck bridge on B5289 Lorton-Buttermere Road

When: Tuesday 6th September, 2pm

What to bring: Please wear strong footwear or wellies and clothing suitable for the weather conditions.  We will be walking through long grass in places which could be wet.

Booking: Numbers are restricted so please email ian@westcumbriariverstrust.org or chrispoate@gmail.com to us know you are coming.
